Uponor Project: West Village Housing at Texas Tech University

Good Afternoon Pepco Blog Readers!

The latest and greatest Uponor Case Study showcases a job well done by a mechanical contractor in Lubbock, Texas on the Texas Tech University campus. Armstrong Mechanical has been using Uponor PEX since 1994 on both commercial and residential projects. For this particular project, the Armstrong team developed a plumbing design that saved the the university 305,000 by avoiding the expense of copper tubing while cutting down on labor for the installation.

The installers were so pleased that it was easy to verify that the job was done correctly by identifying tight friction against the coupling. Those who worked on the job at Armstrong Mechanical were trained on-site and in a classroom which was facilitated by your very own sales and marketing firm; Pepco! Plumbing product development salesman Bruce Wood was eager to bring some new technology to an environment that was accustomed to using strictly copper.
